This class is another period of the English 7 class. While it will have its own texts, different from the English texts, the papers will be the same: narrative short stories, research and exposition, responses to themes in literature, and persuading others to think or act a certain way. Lots of writing!

My goal for the students in this class is to have many different types of papers that my students have written. Some of the papers will be narrative, where you will be writing short stories. Some of the papers will be simple research papers, where you will be writing about someone or something you have learned about. Some of the papers will be paragraphs about themes or messages in stories you have read. Finally, some of the papers will be presentations meant to call upon others to take some kind of action.

We continue on with High Point! in ESL 3 and 4. You have reached the place where you may possibly reclassify very soon! If your goal is to make this jump out of ESL, then I will help you in this!

This will be a no-nonsense, hard-working assignment for you. This is a fantastic program of new concepts that will be carefully introduced and then reviewed frequently with much variety to help you to learn the concepts well. There will be regular testing of the material. The class grade, same for both periods, will be based upon the test scores and your class participation.

This is where we all begin! From September to June, we are in this together. I will help you do all you can to succeed in your class with me!
